Current research is on magnetic nanoparticles and their functionalisation for biological applications. Of particular interest is how energy landscapes evolve in response to external stimulation e.g. from electromagnetic fields. The often unpredictable behaviour of such systems can result in fascinating fractal structures and the emergence of chaos. .

I am engaged in developing a new branch of biophysics based on nano-technology that  will take medicine into a new era of discovery and therapeutics.

Before concentrating on Physics I was on the BAe team that worked on the successful Lockheed Martin design of the Joint Strike Fighter.
