Education & Career
2006 Lecturer, University of Loughborough, Department of Mathematical Sciences. Research My research lies in the field of soft condensed matter and liquid state theory. My current interests fall into three broad areas: Firstly, the development of a dynamical density functional theory for classical fluids. Secondly, the physics of solvation and in particular the calculation of solvent mediated potentials, with particular emphasis on the effect of phenomena such as wetting films and critical solvent fluctuations on the effective potential between two dissolved solute particles. The final area of interest is in theories for equilibrium fluid cluster formation and freezing, including the novel freezing to a highly delocalized solid that one can find in model soft-core fluids. A read of some of my papers will give you a better idea of my research interests. |
