I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Loughborough University. I am a Member of the ACM and a Fellow of the BCS. In my time here I have been teaching coordinator, projects coordinator, deputy head and, from 2008-2011, Head of Department.
From summer 2011-2012 I'm on sabbatical leave spending two days a week at the Univeristy of Cambridge's Computer Lab and several weeks at the University of Adelaide.
My research interests and networking and multimedia, specifically performance management, mobile devices and ad-hoc computing. One of the main aims for the research is to turn computing devices into things that are really useful, and support the real work of people. At present I lead the Networks, Communciation and Control Systems research group, which is part of the Research School of Informatics. I used to work in the High Speed Networks Group in Electrical Engineering at Loughborough. Before that I was a PhD student in Computer Science at Manchester University
