The Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying (CMQS) degree is a four-year thick sandwich (UCAS Course Code HK22).
All students are sponsored by a building or civil engineering contractor, and spend their year-out placement working for their sponsoring contractor. Students also receive bursaries from their sponsors whilst at university.
The programme is fully accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Under the new Education Partnership Agreement scheme, the Department of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University was the very first university to sign such an agreement. The Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying degree "...met all the criteria and is a quality programme. The degree is strongly backed by industry, has very high intake requirements and an exceptional employment record for its graduates." (Surveying Quarterly, RICS Branch magazine, Winter 2000).
