Project Background
The following project was undertaken as an EPSRC Vacation Scholarship within the department of Computer Science, Loughborough University. The supervisor was Dr Russell Lock, and the student Alex Barfoot. The department is currently looking into the best way to take the project further. In the interim the tool that was developed will be tested within the Department on the Requirements Engineering module delivered to 2nd year CS students.
Project Description
This project explored the role electronic tools have in reinforcing good Requirement Engineering practice. The vast majority of electronic requirement storage tools available today are both commercial and expensive. As such they are not generally used in training budding Requirement Engineers within a university setting. The tool developed during this project provides a simple GUI for Volere requirement entry, modification & storage using an XML format. The tool can also analyse the stored requirements for issues such as:
