This conceptual idea for a light switch, developed in response to a Viridian competition, aims to educate the user by helping them recognise how much energy they use.

The idea is that one press of the switch will produce a set length of time for the light to be switched on. This is communicated to the user as a fingerprint shaped light on the switch pad.  As energy is used, the light fades.
