thermocolour iron

Russell Hobb's Thermocolour Iron uses simple visual feedback to tell the user what temperature the iron is functioning at. "When the colour's right, the temperature's right"[1].

The LED lights located in the water tank change colour automatically depending on the temperature of the soleplate to indicate that the iron is at the correct temperature for ironing different fabrics. This reduces the risk of users scorching and burning fabrics whilst ironing.

Although Russell Hobbs do not explicitly highlight the environmental benefits associated with protecting clothing during ironing this intervention could potentially reduce waste and prolong the lifespan of clothing items.
