Developed by Laurence Kemball-Cook, a graduate of Loughborough Design
School, Pavegen is a paving slab that harvests kinetic energy in high
footfall environments converting it to electricity [1].
How does it work?;
|
The pavegen slab moves under 5mm from each footstep and converts
kinetic energy to electricity that is stored within the slab.
Each slab glows when walked over providing feedback to indicate that
the pedestrian has generated energy.
The energy harvested can be used to power information display stands
and lighting, amongst other applications. |
