Designed by Rocco Avallone, Our Energy Information (OEI) is an
interactive touch screen light switch that rates you on your energy
consumption through a very low-energy colourful and animated display. It
can also receive community information so you can see how your
consumption compares to your neighbours. The idea is to make energy
consumption interesting, and understandable.
Combining an energy monitoring device with a light
switch, a highly visible "place where you're sure to look at and think
about energy consumption" [1] increases its likelihood of being
consulted.

The OEI concept uses Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology, a
light emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent
layer is a film of organic compounds which emit light in response to an
electric current. To learn more about OLED technology (what it is, how
it works, how it is made and its commercial application) watch this
