IDEO's Social Mobiles project sought to design mobile phones
that modify their users' behaviour to make it less disruptive.
Five working
prototypes were developed by
IDEO and designer/artist
Crispin Jones.
The Catapult Mobile allows the user to disrupt
other people’s conversations if they deem them to be inappropriate or
offensive by firing sounds into the offender's phone to interrupt their
call and invade their space.
