ice cream or ice caps

Designed by Rob Maslin with graphics by Karen Laquoix, this packaging concept for ice-cream aims to “create a narrative and link the effect of consuming the Ice Caps with the effect of consuming goods” and "open a discussion with the consumers whereby they consciously balanced their pleasure with the implications of their choices"[1].

As the ice cream is consumed the ice cap disappears. The messages on the inside of the tub seek to promote an awareness of the environmental issues involved.

This concept won Second Prize at the Valpack Awards 2008.
