Though not ostensibly targeting ecological responsibility but the wider
issue of health and wellbeing, GreenGoose is a technological platform
which uses tiny sensors and accelerometers on stickers or credit cards
to track everyday behaviour and record it online. The sensors are
wireless and have a battery inside which lasts a year. Each one measures
a different activity or behaviour, but they all communicate with the
same egg-sized base-station

A user can put a sticker containing a tiny sensor and a year's worth
of battery power, on the handle of a toothbrush, for example.
The motion of
the toothbrush being used triggers a recording device which logs the use
pattern and sends it to the GreenGoose base station which then publishes
the data online via a wireless router.
|
| When the sensors reach the
end of their useful life, customers can send them back to GreenGoose
for recycling. |
The emphasis is on making behaviour change fun through encouraging play;
"We make life more fun by turning everyday things into opportunities to
play. Things to do become meaningful, social, and simply part of a game"
