every drop shower saver®

The Every Drop Shower Saver®, invented by Michael Stavrou, is a paddle-like device "which can be retrofitted to the base of the shower stem" [1]. It aims to encourage the user to prevent water being wasted whilst soaping, shampooing, and shaving by temporarily pausing the flow of water whilst maintaining the water temperature and pressure.

"The stylish shape of the paddle invites the fingers of the hand to flick the paddle left or right to instantly, with only one action, cut off or resume full flow of the premixed water" [1]

According to the Inventor "everyone would like to save water but it's too much trouble to turn off the water while soaping because you have to re-create the mixture. That's why we usually leave the water running while we soap. But when it's THIS easy to PAUSE the water you'll instinctively stop the water that's wasted while soaping. Because soaping takes longer than rinsing the Every Drop Shower Saver® effectively doubles your water supply for showering, or put another way, you'll easily halve the amount of water used to shower!" [2].
