count on it®

Count On It® scratch-off food freshness labels aim to reduce unnecessary food waste by prompting users to consume food products in date order.

They work by enabling consumers to mark the date the product was first opened, stored or frozen and then judge, at a glance, if food is still fresh and safe to eat, or if it should be thrown away [1].

Count On It® labels are an inexpensive, simple, yet effective eco-choice mechanism which could, if
used correctly, reduce the mounting food waste currently being disposed of into landfills.
